English Harpsichord circa 1750 An extremely rare and a very elegantly proportioned example of a mid 18th century Single Manual English Harpsichord. The walnut case with boxwood and ebony stringing and brass strap lid hinges is raised on a trestle stand. Compass FF/G – f3 with ivory naturals and ebony sharps. Three hand stops controlling two eight foot stops and buff. The later nameboard inscribed Thomas Blasser fecit Londini. Blas*** is faintly inscribed under the base of the instrument. The case, soundboard, bridge, nut, wrestplank and hitch-rails are all in extremely strong and remarkably well preserved original condition. The action of this harpsichord has been rebuilt with replacement key-levers and jacks.
