Grand Piano by Johann Fritz Circa 1828
Johann Fritz was a highly regarded piano maker in Vienna along with the likes of Graf, Streicher and the later members of the Stein family.
Manufactured circa 1828, this is an extremely handsome example of a Viennese grand piano that would have been familiar to the great composers of piano music in the late classical and early romantic periods.
The highly figured Hungarian Ash case, 244 cms. long by 126 cms. wide is raised on three columnar legs with embossed brass collars.
Six pedals control Bassoon, Keyboard Shift, Moderator, Semi-Moderator, Drum/Bells and Damper Lift. The compass is CC-g4.
Carefully restored to excellent playing condition.
